Sales On the Rise in Island County Real Estate Market | Published: 6/22/2016 | Homesnap Real...

The Island County market was healthy in this week's report, as the number of home sales climbed 5.2%, pushing the total to 182 homes sold over the last 30 days. Within the same time period, King County had 3,161 sales, the most of all counties in the area. Prices are rising in Island County, and the median sales price this period increased from $319,000 to $322,500. With only three months of inventory and rising sales, Island County is a seller's market.

While home sales in the Island County market have been above average, in this week's report they slid 2.7% to 146 homes sold over the last 30 days. On the other hand, close-by King County registered 2,803 home sales in the same period, the most of all surrounding counties. The median sales price climbed to $292,200, up from last week's $286,000. Despite the slip in sales, a relatively low three months of inventory indicates that Island County is a seller's market.
